The Best ClassPass Classes NYC

I have spent the past year on ClassPass going to almost every studio in an effort to find the absolute best ClassPass classes NYC.

ClassPass has been a real game changer in my fitness routine. I can generally find a class at any time of the day (especially now with 24 hour fitness on the ClassPass roster). I’ve toned up, met new friends, and have recently taken up aqua cycling (hello summertime!).

This has probably been the most fun and rewarding experience in a long time (you should see my leg muscles now!) I am so happy to share this fitness info with you, and I hope that it motivates you to be your absolute fittest self in the New Year.

The Best ClassPass Classes NYC

1. Aqua Studio

Ok readers, I’ve been hesitant to share this with you. Yes, I’ve been withholding this information for my own selfish reasons, and I apologize. I just want to keep getting a seat in this class…!

Aqua Cycling at Aqua Studio is the most amazing fitness class I’ve ever experienced. Most classes are taught by candlelight really setting the mood for a zen cycling experience. They even have a restorative class set to classical music! They also have harder interval training classes. The water really takes any impact out of this exercise, and you apparently work 10 times harder because of the water!

2. Dance Body

Dance Body offers the best dance cardio classes in the NYC area.
Dance Cardio is THE hottest fitness craze these days. All the big celebrities are doing it (and have been doing it for a long time): JLo, Gwenyth, Madonna, Kim K., just to name a few. If you want to read more about Dance Cardio check out this NY Times article.

KP (aka Katia Pryce) is known for her sexy body workout that you may have read about in Cosmo on multiple occasions.

If you’re not in NYC, you can work out with KP on Cosmo Body for about $7/mo. However, GILT has a deal right now for a FREE 3 month membership so definitely scoop up that deal

A typical Dance Body Class:

  • Always has the best and latest dance music
  • Will make you sweat the entire class
  • Features 30-45 minutes of pretty intense cardio
  • Uses resistance bands for about 15 minutes of toning
  • Works your core while standing and laying down
  • Is always fun and inspiring
  • Has great dance moves!! This is not your grandma’s Zumba

*Be sure to stick around for KP’s signature butt lifting exercises at the end of class. They do not disappoint.

3. Uplift

Uplift is a FEMALE only!! studio. Yes, I really like that choice (bye bye men who disgustingly grunt through an entire 60 minute bootcamp class). Their classes are tough, effective, and fun. They have showers and are heavily stocked with lots of beauty products including the cult favorite Malin + Goetz.

Uplift really goes by their name: they always are encouraging, kind, and, well ,uplifting. They also have healthy free snacks as you leave the studio.

4. Brooklyn Bodyburn

Brooklyn Bodyburn is the workout we all love to hate. Vanessa Hudgens has been spotted sweating here. It doesn’t matter how many times you go, it’s always insanely hard (in a really good way). It’s the Lagree method: the Megaformer machine that kicks you into shape in a very short amount of time. You will sweat, you might cry or curse a little, you will definitely learn new things about your body. You will want to come back.

If you want to get into one of these classes on Classpass, though, you have to wait by the computer at exactly 12pm, they honestly fill up within 1 minute. Sometimes you get lucky the day before and classes do tend to open up…but that’s more for the spontaneous.

Barrys Bootcamp: The celebs flock to Barrys for cardio/weights that won’t let you down.
Pilates Union Square: 30 minutes on the Cadillac followed by 30 minutes on the reformer. Heaven.
Jivamukti Yoga: If you like chanting and sweaty vinyasa yoga, head over here. The classes are blissful.
AKT in Motion: Dance Cardio (Sarah Jessica Parker and Kelly Rippa are devotees)
Chaise Fitness: Bungee fitness fun!
Dharma Yoga New York: study with one of the world’s most respected yoga teachers!
Exhale: Great core fusion barre classes!
Flex Studios: great TRX classes
Xtend Barre: Really great ballet inspired barre classes
Tone House: Intense and not for the weak!
