Walk The Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge Manhattan
Walking the Brooklyn Bridge is definitely one of my favorite Free things to do in NYC. You get to see many breath taking views at one time, contemplate the complexities of bridge engineering, and there are Wafles and Dinges waiting for you on the Manhattan side. O.K., only do the former occasionally when you can split it with a friend or afford the extra calories, which according to Fitness Pal is 242 calories and 14 grams of fat.

Van Brunt Stillhouse

While you’re in Brooklyn, stop by my favorite neighborhood, Red Hook. You’ll feel like you stepped back into the 1800’s when ship building was all the rage.

Van Brunt Stillhouse makes Whiskey, Rum, Grappa, and Moonshine at its artisanal distillery in Red Hook, Brooklyn

Central Park

Southwest corner of Central Park, looking east, NYC

It speaks for itself really. Central Park has so many wonderful free things to see, the list goes on. Just go take a walk and see what you find!

By Donation NYC Museums

Here is a comprehensive list of NYC by donation museums. Simply walk up to the counter and state you wish to pay by donation. The teller will ask how much, and it is your absolute right to name your price.

Donations do help keep these beautiful institutions up and running, so certainly donate what you can afford.
