I’ve compiled a list of the best and affordable pilates equipment for home to help you bring your pilates practice home (see below for recommendations and affiliate links). Pilates is my absolute go to exercise. I always feel better after I take a pilates class, it doesn’t strain my body like a boot camp class, and my abs look seriously good after just a few classes! The famous Joseph Pilates quote really is true:
Pilates at home can be a great addition to your home workout routine. Pilates is very specific with breathe and alignment, therefore I highly recommend you work out periodically with a pilates instructor. If you can’t find one, but really want an at home pilates routine, then you can always do pilates Dvds or online pilates workouts to make sure you are doing the correct breathing and alignment.
I’ve put together this list of pilates equipment for the home to help you navigate which products are worth buying.
Pilates Equipment For Home
The pilates magic circle is much harder than it looks! It always has my inner thighs and arms shaking pretty quickly! It’s an extremely versatile workout tool and probably my number one favorite pilates accessory.
If you’re not currently Foam Rolling, then please get yourself one now! Foam Rolling is an important aspect to everyone’s fitness routine. Here is a great article from Goop on Foam Rolling for a trimmer waist.
The stability ball is another great tool to have in your pilates repretoire. It’s very versatile and can even help relieve low back pain in certain exercises.
The Balanced Body Springboard is a pilates tower designed by master pilates teacher Elie Herman. It’s a beautifully designed piece of equipment that blends in well on any wall.
This cool “all in one” product comes with a ballet barre, toning tower, yoga pad, and Dvd’s. It is much like a mini pilates tower, and as you can see from the photos you can do a ton of different things on it!
If you love reformer classes, most likely you’re going to want to buy one for your home…they are really addicting! The best made entry point consumer pilates reformer machine is by far the Stott Pilates SPX…the other ones that are cheaper for around $400 are not worth the money or the space. You’re better off buying the Springboard.
I have some tips and tricks to find pilates reformers for cheap (the good brands, not the off brands). Check out this article if you’re seriously in the pilates reformer market: How To Find A Quality Cheap Pilates Reformer (Top Brands)
