Lately I’ve been on the hunt for the best sofas for small spaces; specifically mid century modern sofas under $1000. They are harder to find than you’d think… Even most “small” sofas are quite large for small city living. I’ve done a long and exhaustive search and am happy to share this list. You’ll be happy to see NO IKEA on this list!
The Best Sofas For Small Spaces For Under $1000
Wow this sofa is reasonably priced! It has great reviews…and it pulls out into a bed. Talk about a multifunction space saver!
– Width: 84″
– Depth: 35″
– Height: 34.5″
– Seat depth: 23″
– Bed width: 43.5″
– Bed depth: 74″
This is my favorite sofa. I love the vintage look and design. It is a little longer than most “small” sofas, however the depth is only 32.5″ which is really hard to find for narrow apartments!
Size: 82″w x 32.5″d x 29.5″h
According To West Elm:
Refined retro. The Archie Sofa’s mod shape gets a fresh update with bold fabric, tight back tufting and stylish tapered legs. Each is crafted in the USA with hand-built frames and hand-finished upholstery.
This sofa is as darling in person as it is online. CB2 usually runs good sales as well, so you can typically score free shipping or some kind of discount.
Fashioned especially for small spaces, this streamlined design by Jannis Ellenberger is light on its midcentury feet in a rich blue that lives like a neutral. Defined by soft curves, sheltering profile with gently sloped arms hugs a cozy spot for two with a tight seat and back. Tailored to perfection in blue micro-velvet, piping traces every fluid line and neat fitted pleats accent the arms. Compact footprint maintains its elevated style on tapered maple legs washed in a grey/brown stain that reveals the natural beauty of the wood.
Beautiful lines and comfort puts this sofa on the list…It IS a bit larger than the others, but the price is great so I’m sharing it.
Size: 75″w x 36.25″d x 35″h.
From West Elm:
Compact comfort. The Finn Sofa’s tailored lines, tapered legs and button tufting are inspired by mid-century forms. Its petite frame makes it ideal for smaller spaces. Each sofa is crafted in the USA with hand-built frames and cushions and hand-finished upholstery.
Not exactly mid century, but this sofa does have a modern vintage look. Plus it’s a super space saver at only 54″ wide. Plus it’s really comfortable.
Bespoke two-seater restyles classic wingback curves in a modern mix of refined and raw. Smartly dressed in chunky grey poly weave, sheltering sofa sits in plush contrast to angular maple base left au naturel.
